This is a crash from 2006 Corporate Challenge night at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome. The race was a Devil Scratch which is half miss-n-out and half scratch race. The field was pretty small for a Friday, but there were some quick riders in the pack. The first crash was Brett Jacoby doing what he does.
The second crash is a little hazy but I think a couple riders at the front didn’t realize he was still on the track and got tangled up. I was coming through and tried to go under Randy and instead ended up drilling him in the head (sorry man) and flying 90 feet down the track. Concrete is not soft. It hurt. Bad.
This is why track racers are a different breed.
