Lehigh Valley Coal 126 in Spencer 2015

In the Spring of 2015, steam returned to Spencer and the North Carolina Transportation Museum with a visit from Lehigh Valley Coal 0-6-0T #126. In this video, we see the engine operating for the engineer for an hour program at the museum; where guests could learn the basic operation of a full sized steam engine.

Southern Railway GP-30 #2601 was in service that day for the onsite train rides. Interestingly enough, the consist for the train rides were the restored NS 21st Century Steam coaches which had been previously used for the Polar Express runs from that winter.
